Project Description:

Bid on This Project

We are seeking a developer in Charlotte, NC (others need not respond) to develop our site. Send an email with your particulars, and reference sites you have built. INTERNET SITE VISION STATEMENT COMMUNICATION, INPUT AND CONCENSUS Our Company wishes to create an internet site for the purpose of communicating to, and receiving input from individuals that have been invited to participate in projects of specific interest to them. The ultimate goal is to build consensus among in user groups. There will not be any commerce conducted on the site, and there will not be a need for the site to attract users, but it should be available for those conducting a specific search with the site?s name. The site?s pages would all be designed with our company?s identity. We have graphic designer?s that would participate in this design work, however they are not web designers per se. They would furnish graphics in one of the popular electronic formats. Budget is flexible.

Additional Details: The initial page of the site would offer some brief generic explanations of what the user should expect, and have a drop-down menu that the user would use to select their specific project. Many projects could be active simultaneously, but each user would be interested in, and permitted access to their own Access would be by a pre-supplied password, and would be non-critical in nature (simply a way to cut down on users viewing projects other than their own). Once the user was logged-into their project, they would be presented with a page that briefly offers an over-view of the project objectives. There might be project specific images on this page, but only of a static and cosmetic nature. We envision a window opening automatically (or possibly by user selected option) that would offer a streaming video file of a senior project manager offering a 30-180 second welcome speech, and closing with directions for the next step. Upon selecting the option for the next step, the user would be presented with a streaming narrated power-point presentation. Although we expect there to be common power-point animation, we see no need for any video content during this presentation. Once finished viewing the presentation, the user would be directed to an option opening a multiple-choice answer survey. The survey could be taken immediately or later at the user?s convenience. There may, or may not be a place for the user to add essay comments at this point. Although we will need to access the data for each answer in whole numbers vs. number of respondents, we will not require any further statistical analysis as envisioned at this time. At some point (days or weeks later), we will be contacting the user-group again and invite them to participate in an on-line Q&A session with one or more of the project?s managers. The users would enter the chat session through the site, after once again logging into their project, and selecting an ?enter? option for the session. We envision these sessions to be accompanied by a pre-recorded streaming power point presentation, which at specific points stops, and invites questions from the attendees on specific issues. Once the text-based Q & A on that point was completed (moderator?s discretion), the narrative and slides would begin again. This process would continue until the pre-planned Q&A sessions had been completed, and end with a ?thank you for participating? and information on what might be next for the project, and the user?s participatory needs. The entire process of a streaming narrated power-point learning session followed by a Q&A input session (as defined above) might be repeated as the project evolves and the need for further user input is needed (again, user would be invited to these session by emails containing web links, as well as dates and times for the real-time events. The site would also be used for posting of text-based project progress reports which the user could access at will, or after being notified by email that they were available at the site. It would also act as a delivery system for podcasts relating to specific project subjects (with the obligatory tool for installing itunes, off course). Additional thoughts and concerns The number of active projects are unknown at this time, and would depend in some part on the complexity and cost associated with the various levels. But potentially, with licensee support, active projects could run as high as 50-100. We estimate that the number of user?s participating on a given project might be as few as 25 or many as several hundred. The streaming narrated power-point learning session might be as long as 30 minutes in length, and would be tailored by practicality (advise). As stated, we do not require statistical analysis of the survey results, but would want access to the results of completed projects for an unlimited period of time for future multi-project data correlation and off-line statistical analysis. Although some of the activities detailed above might be available by using existing free or share-ware, we wish the look of all pages to be homogeneous and in keeping with our company?s graphic identity. We may be OK with a simple by-line, or possibly willing to pay one-time or ongoing usage fees should it make sense economically vs. creating the activity from scratch. All user accessible data and activity should be available to both PC and Mac users. Necessary plug-ins or software downloads should be offered as needed in the simplest form possible. Summary Although we are very experienced with the aspects and activities defined here when they are not internet based, we have no way of anticipating the complexity or the cost with bringing to fruition this site and its activities as envisioned. We hope to connect with a design/engineering entity that will be open and honest about our needs, and challenge us as we work together to create the very best site we can, within the practical constraints that cost and time impose.
