Web Design Project Description: Project Summary Summary:A simple four page website which offers users the ability to view videos of other users and to rate on two separate scales how cool and hot those users are. The site will also allow users to browse profiles of other users, view top scoring entries, connect with other users, and set-up their own profiles, including placing their own videos up for voting. Appearance:The site will have a clean, uncluttered appearance. It will look modern and slightly edgy. Timeline: 1 month Budget: $1500 - $2000 Site Overview Tab 1: Rate Ability to set variables controlling which videos user will be shown (browse and more detailed search functionalities) Display video, allowing user to vote on two separate scales Allow viewing user to click to user in video Ability to email friends a link to the video Link to display the user profile associated with video being shown Basic (free) profile will display: (a) one video, (b) three photographs, (c) username and stats, (d) e-gifts from other users, (e) users self description including multiple text fields for interests, music, etc. Deluxe (paid) profile will have the same as above, but with three videos and ten photographs In left column, page will display the cumulative scores received by the previously viewed video Ability for user to flag video for inappropriate content; flagged videos will be suspended until manager review Side advertisements Tab 2: Best of Listing of highest ranked users from each day Links to view the displayed users videos & profiles Links to meet each user Side advertisements Tab 3: My Profile Ability to view and edit your profile and block users Ability to see scores for your videos, stars earned from best of and e-gifts from other users Tell a friend functionality, where user receives a free e-gift for a certain number of referrals Ability to obtain a widget to display the scores on profile pages on other social networking sites Ability to sign up for a site subscription, as well as ability to purchase e-gifts for other users Side advertisements Tab 4: About Us Text page explaining how to use the site Side advertisements Header Logo Log-in / Log-out Contact Us Footer Site Index FAQs Contact us Privacy Policy Terms of Use Subscribe Now / Unsubscribe CMS Ability to view/manage/approve/dis-approve videos and photos, including a separate section for content flagged as inappropriate Ability to edit About Us, FAQs, Contact Us, Privacy Policy, and Terms of Use Ability to send newsletters to users Ability to manage user profiles, including viewing contact info and removing users Ability to edit automated emails Site traffic statistics Typical shopping cart functionalities, including ability to change subscription price and add / remove e-gifts Full record of sales and ability to export sales data to Quickbooks Site Functionality Rating Search / Browse Button Users will be able to limit videos being shown to them according to gender, age, location, orientation, username/email, text description of video, or text description in profile. Video selection. The displayed videos will be limited by the Search / Browse criteria. Past that, videos will be displayed in a quasi-random order, with more emphasis placed on new videos in need of ratings. Rating. The user will be able to rate the displayed video on how cool and hot it is requiring two separate scales. Before the video begins, the primary photograph of the user in the video will be displayed over the video. Once the second vote is placed, the user will be shown the next video. The cumulative scores of the previous video will be displayed in the left column along with that users default picture, which is also a link back to that users profile. The entrance page for the site will not have a side score for any previous video. Tell a Friend. This button will display, below the video, a place to input email addresses and a note which can be edited containing a link to the currently viewed video. See Profile. The profile for the user in the video will appear below the video. It will display the users primary photo and include links to the users additional videos and pictures. It will also display the additional profile information, such as age, gender, location, orientation, and self description fields. Meet Me Button The meet button will allow the rating user to connect with user in the video. Upon clicking meet, the portion of the page below the video will display a combination of the Just Say Hey button (see below), a send an e-gift button, a send a note form and a subscribe now button. All users will always have the ability to just say hey and to send an e-gift to any user. Subscribing users will have the ability to send a note to both subscribers and non-subscribers. Non-subscribers will have the ability to send a note to subscribers only. When non-subscribers click the meet me button on a non-subscribers page, instead of a send a note form they will see a subscribe now button. When a non-subscriber clicks to meet a subscriber, both the send a note and subscribe now button will be displayed. After each action a confirmation page will be displayed. Notes will be sent to the receiving users inbox, and may be sent to his or her email according to the receiving users communication preferences. All notes will include links to the senders profile. Notes to non-subscribers will include a link to subscribe. Just Say Hey. Upon clicking the meet me button, each user will see a just say hey button. Instead of writing a note, user A can click just say hey, and a note will be sent to user B with a link to user As profile. A confirmation message will appear on the site confirming the note was sent. All users are able to perform this functionality.
