Web Design Project Description: We prefer this to be programmed in php. We are looking for a social bookmarking web site with features similar to MySpace.com. However we have several very unique requirements that MySpace clones do not offer. The concept of the web site is to provide a family their own web portal where they can track important family dates (Birthdays, anniversaries, dates that certain things expire); lists (grocery lists, gift lists, wish lists); photo albums, video clips and ability to upload documents. Each family space must be protected from entry by non family members. Families must have the ability to have multiple log-ins with different levels of access to the web site (head of household = full access to all areas; bill payers = read access to all or certain areas, ability to pay account; member = read only access to certain areas as noted by head of household). Non-family members must not be able to stumble upon the family areas, search engines must not be able to spider the protected family areas, members of other families must not be able to enter other family areas, unless they are invited and approved. The one thing we want to avoid is this becoming a dating web site. Nothing would be worse than a news story about my web site which is dedicated to families has caused a divorce or two because couples hooked up on my web site. The site will be a membership website with the following services: Customizable Profile Pages Email updates on all important dates Suggestions for gifts for holidays from sold advertisers Interactive profiles with family and friends on the____ network. What the website needs to accomplish: · Ability to manage members and users very easily and efficiently · Ability to apply questionnaires to settings of profile. · Ability to email users and members efficiently and by different fields or demographics. · Ability to monitor page, profile and service use by members · Ability to give gifts in credits and memberships · Ability to have spouse login and change certain details · Ability to efficiently add new features as we grow. Membership registration Members register to create a very simple yet customizable profile page. On this page each member will have the ability to add and remove important dates, methods of contact, membership status, post a family photo, view their important dates, send and approve family and friend invites, access the family blog, and the ability to access requested specials and offer on gifts for the special dates. The home page will be the access point for members and those wishing to register. The home page will also offer four banner style advertisements, one promotional space, important dates not to forget (Christmas, Valentines Day?) and text linking to ideas for gifts (affiliate based). Registered users can create a simple profile page with the ability to add two dates. Spouses Birthday and Anniversary will be the two dates allowed for members with a free account. Holidays like Valentines and Christmas will be standard reminders posted on the page and sent via email. Membership Levels Level 1 xxx/month Level 2 xxx/month Level 3 xxx/month The major differences in the levels will be the number of family members they are allowed to have and the number of people they can invite into their family area.
